Constitution of Master's Course

Basic subjects

Basic subjects are designed to develop ethical decision-making and management skills from a general perspective. Students are encouraged to cultivate fresh points of view that strives to transcend standard medical services frameworks.

Major Subjects I

Nine classes are allotted in order to enhance high-level abilities in nursing practice and nursing studies: Nursing Education, Nursing Management, Nursing Theory, Nursing Research Methodology, Nursing Ethics, Policy-making in Nursing, Clinical Pharmacology, Health Assessment in Nursing, and Pathophysiology. Four of these classes are compulsory. CNS students must take seven classes and should then plan to register for a CNS license on their own.

Major Subjects Ⅱ

Major subject fields are categorized as follows: community-based fundamental nursing, management in nursing, nursing of children and child-rearing families, and nursing of adult. Students study intensively in the field they chose during their entrance examination. All courses consist of methodology, seminars, and nursing research. All classes in a student's chosen specialization are mandatory. In the CNS programs for chronic care nursing, child health nursing, and cancer nursing, the previously designated classes are also compulsory.

Requirements

33 credits total:

・27 credits in compulsory subjects (Basic Subjects: 2, Major Subjects I: 8, Major Subjects II: 17) and 6 electives
In the student's chosen field: 4 methodology credits, 3 seminar credits, and 10 nursing research credits
Certified Nurse Specialist program:
Chronic Care Nursing: 47 credits total (Basic Subjects: 2, Major Subjects I: 12, Major Subjects II: 31 electives: 2).
Child Health Nursing: 47 credits total (Basic Subjects: 2, Major Subjects I: 12, Major Subjects II: 31, electives: 2).
Cancer Nursing: 49 credits total (Basic Subjects: 2, Major Subjects I: 12, Major Subjects II: 23, electives: 2).
